This board is a great example of the S Deck which originated around 1968-9.
In those years the blanks available didn’t have much rocker as they were made fo longer boards. When shaping these we had to scoop the deck out and plane the maximum rocker you could. The thickness was left under the chest to help with paddling as they were predominately under 6’4″. When I look back, I started surfing on a 9′ Balsa and within 7 years I was on a 6′ S Deck.
Odin were in Ballina for a short period in the late sixties, early seventies. They were made by Rick Purnell, Barry Pussell, and Peter Dutton.
