This board is so far ahead of its time Joe must have been experimenting with everything to come up with this in the 60’s.
Joe is often overlooked when the pioneers are mentioned but he was always at the forefront of design as this example shows, when others were only making standard design boards Joe was out there coming up with some remarkable shapes. A Flex Tail with a scoop deck in 1964??? Who would have thought?
The flex tail became the domain of Mitchell Rae from Outer Island Surfboards along with many experimental concaves.
