During the early years of surfboard manufacturing, the Norm Casey label was as big as the Brookvale six, Norm’s boards could be found in most retail outlets of the day, which was totally different from today as you went to a Hardware store, A major retail chain such as Walton’s, (Today’s equivalent would be David Jones) or you went to the factory and ordered a custom board such as this one. Peter has had this board from new and is a great example of Norm’s quality with a solid balsa stringer through the center and two smaller redwood stringers on either side. This made these boards virtually unbreakable, but at the same time a lot heavier. Unfortunately, no leg ropes made it imperative your board could hit the rocks or Manly wall without being obliterated. Thanks for sharing Peter.
