Local Knowledge were made at Kirra Qld. This board was shaped for Blacckie by Steve Goddard.

A bit of a story behind this one. I emailed Jim Davidson regarding this board and below is his reply. Jim as only Jim can say it. Thanks mate.

Hey Rob, wow, stoked to see this board, it was for BLACKIE all right !!! ha ha ha, it has a local knowledge logo, so it was made in that factory, owned by peter turner KIRRA SURF … we used to do a whole lotta crazy boards in those days, late 81 / 1982 was the year I started with those guys, met zorro, Blackie, “Reg Riley”, Hoppy , the sander ??? a waterman legend, his name escapes me (rip, he died) … I knew peter turner from a meeting in Sydney at G&S, I wandered into his factory at Kirra, by mistake, and ended up making a great bunch of mates and working with them for many years, it also lead onto MANGO, BILLABONG, CHEETAH SWIMWEAR and a host of other labels I designed for … ha ha ha … blackie would say stuff like “I want a speed boat, you f–kin’ Zoobrick !!! ha ha ha … we painted one like a HOT DOG bun and frankfurt !!! peter turner had said, “I want a really good hot dogger for a stock board !!!” ha ha ha .. was he impressed ?? lucky he had a great sense of humor!!!  thanx for being in touch rob … today I am digging up plumbing pipes !!!! WTF … this stuff keeps me from cruisin’ around the coast if you get my drift … stay in touch mate, it is nice to feel “needed” !!! Rockin in the free world buddy ….
