111-1-1 Ron

This is a great example of the first mass-produced surfboards. Ron were made in a boat-building factory in Belmore Sydney mainly for retail stores like Waltons, Knock & Kirby’s which were major retail stores at the time.

Ron didn’t have a great reputation but what people didn’t realise was that some of the top shapers worked for Ron but never put their name on the boards. As you can see with this board they were a reasonably good board for the money.
