Burford are a Queensland based company, but originally Don Burford started making boards in South Australia since 1958, prior to moving to Queensland in 1974. Don Burford is one of the pioneers of surfing, and also surfboard manufacturing. Burford surfboard blanks were considered the best blanks in Queensland and eventually took on the big Sydney companies.
