Shane surfboards were probably the best-known board from the Brookvale area of the Northern Beaches. Shane Steadman was the surf report guru on the Sydney radio and the inventor of the Ugh Boots.
There are not too many Belly Boards around today. During the early ’60s, there was a hardcore crew of Belly Boarders, that traveled all over the world, they even had world titles. These guys used to get so far in the barrel it was amazing, for the era.
